The onion is one of the most important and widely spread vegetables in the world (Monteiro, 2009). The onion production in Brazil in 2018 was 1.538.499 tons, in an area of approximately 48 thousand hectares, resulting in an average yield value of 31 tons/ha (IBGE, 2017). In this course, developed by Drª. Natália T. Schwab, you will learn about phenology, onion management and nutrition for high yields.

In this course you will learn about:

  • Onion phenology and ecophysiology

  • Phases of growth

  • Nutrition of onion crop

Module 1 - Onion phenology and yield management

Understand the aspects related to phenology, nutrition and the management of onion crop, considering the establishment phase, vegetative and reproductive phases.

This course is for you who like to watch video classes in which the teacher explains the content and are interested in onion production. For you, that want to understand the main practices of management, nutrition and growth phases to produce onion bulbs with quality and high levels of yield.

This course is not for you who do not like watching longer videos and prefer to read texts and already have all the knowledge about onion production. Have all the knowledge about onion phenology and the important management practices at each stage, as well as nutrition and the ecophysiology of onion crop.

The course is 100% online, you can attend whenever you want, according to your time availability. With a total workload of 6 hours, the course consists of 4 recorded video classes, with the following materials:

  • 1 booklet with the summary of the content, available for download;

  • 1 successful case with examples of practical application of the content presented;

  • 1 assessment to test your knowledge.

The course can be paid in cash via bank slip, or credit card up to 5 interest-free installments on your credit card.

  • To release your certificate and complete the course, it is necessary to obtain an average equal to or greater than 65% of correct answers;
